On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) (Flexible Scheduling)

Accredited by the Joint Commission, this organization continues to be the largest and only licensed, non-profit, community-based hospice serving Delaware. Now also providing care in Pennsylvania; southern Chester and Delaware counties. 

We are actively seeking a full-time On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to work homecare – Sussex County. The schedule is a combination of 16 and/or 12-hour shifts (mostly afternoon and nights) to include every other weekend and rotating holidays.

The On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide coordination of interdisciplinary hospice services to patients and families.  Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality nursing care to Hospice patients in accordance with company policy.  Supports the primary care giver in the performance of physical care for the patient.  This is an exempt position.

Qualifications: 

  • NEW GRADS are welcome to apply! Hospice/homecare experience not required. Come to us with the Hospice Heart and we will train you!
  • 2 years of oncology, medical-surgical or home care nursing experience preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing in the State of Delaware & Pennsylvania
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing (BSN preferred but not required)
  • CPR certification required

Schedule:

  • The schedule is a combination of 16 and/or 12-hour shifts (mostly afternoon and nights) to include every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Work Location:

  • Providing home-based hospice care to patients in Sussex County

Compensation:

  • $70,000 – $75,000 per/year
  • Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate
