Accredited by the Joint Commission, this organization continues to be the largest and only licensed, non-profit, community-based hospice serving Delaware. Now also providing care in Pennsylvania; southern Chester and Delaware counties. 

They are actively seeking a full-time Hospice Team Physician.

The Hospice Team Physician, under the supervision of the Medical Director, provides medical leadership to the interdisciplinary team for the provision of hospice services by providing consultation and collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary team and providing medical care and oversight to patients in the inpatient facility and providing coverage in homecare teams as needed. Participates in developing and delivering Staff Education; participates in providing consultative visits for the palliative program as needed. Participates in education opportunities for other doctors and the community as needed.  Functions within established policies and procedures to assure compliance to federal and state hospice regulations.  This is an exempt position.

Hospice Team Physician Qualifications: 

• Delaware and Pennsylvania licensed Doctor of Medicine or osteopathy (can start with PA pending).
• Board certified in physician’s area of specialty.
• Experience in the treatment of end-of-life diseases, management of pain, symptom management and provision of emotional support to patients with life-threatening diseases and to their families.
• Knowledgeable and supportive of the hospice and palliative philosophy of care.
• Able to work as a member of the interdisciplinary team and with others related to the hospice and palliative programs.

Work Environment:

• 12-bed Inpatient Hospice Center

Compensation:

• $220,000 – $260,000 per/year

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm 
• TBD on On-Call rotation
